Ø       Worked on several apaches Hadoop projects. Maps reduce programs were developed using Hadoop java API and also using hives and pig.

Hadoop Big Data Architect 01/2011 – 08/2012

Research performed: DOD (Department of Defense) Filtering Program Estimate Funding Analysis

Ø      The research work involved analyzing and filtering the actual amount ,location and agency type, between (2000 to 2012), this research was processing three levels of analysis of map /reducer programs that will using it for filtering and analyze DOD data sources analysis .

 

Responsibilities:

Ø       The system was initially developed using Java. The Java DOD filtering program was restructured to have business rule engine in a jar that can be called from both java and Hadoop.

Ø       Did the Proof of Concept (POC) on calling a java jar from Hadoop reducer and using Shill Script for interaction between Hadoop reducer and java and implemented the same.

Ø       Shell Script was used as scripting language for MapReduce.

Ø       Performed joins, group by and other operations in MapReduce.

Ø       Using Karmasphere plugin for processing the workflow and get the MapReduce output.

Ø       Used setter and getter methods of Java in the reducer to set/get values to and from the java jar.

Ø       Processed the DOD Filtering engine that was completely written in java from Hadoop with minimal changes to the existing java code.

Ø       Worked with Arrays as data type for tables and successfully read the same in reducer that used Python to set values to a List in Java.

Ø       Worked on Amazon Web Services to complete set of infrastructure and application services that run virtually everything in the cloud from enterprise applications and big data project.

Ø       Processed the output from java and formatted it before sending to the Hadoop output file.

Ø       Used HIVE definition to map the output file to tables.

Ø       Online News for publishing Arabian computer news-The project requirement was to build an online application to the ITP users for. The application was designed using JAVA technology giving the users an option to choose from a wide range of the laptops, desktops and storage devices.

Ø       Played a key role in the software life cycle development - Requirements gathering, Analysis, Detail design, Development and implementation of the system.

Ø       Developed the GUI using Servlets, HTML, JavaScript, and core java.

Ø       Extensively used XML to save and retrieve the user preferences.

Ø       Developed SQL queries and stored procedures.

Ø       Used JDBC to interact with the database.

Ø       Developed the front end for security search and company search using Servlets, HTML, DHTML and JavaScript.
